substance over stuff

Quote

No longer is consumerism confined to dark alleys and shadows. We’ve incorporated it as part of our daily life! We invite it into our homes. It’s embedded deep within our media and entertainment channels. It’s infiltrated our workplaces, our schools, and even our places of worship.

Consumerism, money, buying, possessions, brands, gadgets, stuff… this is such an ingrained part of our society that it’s nearly impossible for us to imagine a world without Ikea, Wal-Mart, McDonalds, ipods, and Old Navy.

But this isn’t the only path we can take. There’s more to life… there’s got to be more than this.
